The above winners were selected by the Review Board of ISSM2008 Organizing Committee. We had carefully reviewed all the abstracts and other attached documents from among over twice as many applicants.


ISSM2008 has made funds available for travel awards for up to 20 students and young researchers.
Maximum grant is:
◊Asia residents 100,000 JPY
◊Rest of the World 150,000 JPY

Applications for "The Travel Awards" should include:
1) CV ( Carriqulum Vitae) including full contact details, mailing address, phone number, e-mail address and fax number.
2) Abstract
3) Proof of student status (for student award only).
4) Supportive statement from your supervisor.

  • Application dead line, Friday, May 16, 2008.
  • Award will be announced by the end of May.
  • The travel grants will be distributed during the Symposium in Shizuoka.
